THE VERGES have been trimmed, the flowerbeds weeded, and now the date has been announced, as on 10 August judging will take place in Whitby for the national Britain in Bloom contest.
Judges John Woodward and Mel Henley will tour the town and everything they lay their eyes on will come under scrutiny.
Residents are asked to play a part by ensuring that their area is looking as good as possible.
The Whitby in Bloom group are leading the town, which is a national finalist representing Yorkshire in the coastal category of the competition.
To show your support the group have invited anyone who would like to take part to meet them on the day at 11.30am in Pannett Park.
