A WORKER from Whitby was one of 12 recognised for their efforts at an awards ceremony in York.
Jane Barber who works at Stakesby for the Wilf Ward Family Trust was awarded the support worker of the year accolade.
She picked up the gong along with colleagues from across North Yorkshire at York Racecourse.
In nominating Jane, the Trust said she “took a lead role in the research and introduction of inclusive technology (switches) to enable profoundly disabled users to be included in all household activities.
“Her dedication, perseverance and commitment to ensuring the service users have an individual life where they are wholly involved, is truly inspirational.”
The Wilf Ward Trust provides personal and home care, supported living, short breaks, holidays and activities to a wide range of people across Yorkshire, the Humber and the North East.”
