BUS company Arriva and North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) have pulled out of a meeting with Whitby Town Council to discuss how to spend the offer of £25,000.
It had been scheduled to take place tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) at Whitby Museum.
Town council clerk Pam Dobson said the council’s working party had requested some costings in relation to maintaining services under threat of being cancelled should NYCC withdraw its subsidies.
However, both NYCC and Arriva were unable to prepare them in time for the meeting.
It is hoped the meeting can be re-arranged for a date in March.
