Archbishop takes to the seas

The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, visited Whitby on Friday.

Accompanied by the the Bishop of Whitby, the Rt Rev Paul Ferguson, Dr Sentamu was given a tour of the town’s lifeboat station and took a trip on the all weather lifeboat, the George and Mary Webb.

The archbishop’s party also paid the Whitby and District Sea Fishing Industry Training School and Whitby Mission and Seafarers’ Centre a visit, before taking some time out to shop for Whitby kippers.
