A SONG by Castleton musician Alistair Griffin will be used as the title music for Sky Sports’ unprecedented coverage of Formula 1.

The track, Just Drive, which was originally released last year, has been re-recorded for Sky Sports F1 HD and now features the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

Singer-songwriter Griffin said: “Formula 1 was the inspiration behind Just Drive and I always hoped it would strike a chord with fans of motorsport.

“To have Sky Sports F1 HD take Just Drive as its theme tune is absolutely amazing.

“There is a history of anthemic songs associated with F1 and I would love for Just Drive to become one of those songs.”

Alistair’s song was an immediate hit with Sky Sports F1 HD producer Martin Turner.

Turner said: “The track conveys a sense of history and drama and the first time I heard it I loved it.

“There’s a sense that every time you hear it you love it more and more and I’m sure F1 fans will like it.

“It fits for both the modern and historic context of Formula 1.

“The new recording, made with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, is a truly super piece of music.”
