A SLEIGHTS fund-raiser and a Fryupdale farmer are hosting their third fund-raiser for Yorkshire Air Ambulance on 1 October.
The charity ball will take place at Whitby Pavilion between 7.30pm and 2am and is being organised by Mandy Cowen and Mike Tindall.
Ms Cowen said: “We have held them in the past as I know people who’ve used the air ambulance, one of them being my partner who’s a builder and fell off a roof.
“They were called out four times in the last week and it’s used such a lot now in our area that I think we need to support them.
“We live in the type of area where we need them for people who are hurt when out doing country pursuits.
“A single helicopter can provide cover across a large area and be airborne within two minutes with a crew team of two paramedics and one pilot, often accessing areas that are difficult or impossible for road ambulances to reach quickly and smoothly, such as coastal, rural or mountainous areas.”
Throughout the evening there will be a three-course meal followed by a performance by Jump, Jive and Wail, who play music from the fifties and sixties.
Woody’s Disco will then keep people dancing throughout the night.
At the event there will also be a silent auction, a raffle and games to help raise money.
At the last charity ball over £15,000 was raised for the air ambulance.
Formal dress is required and tickets cost £38.
