A CRITICALLY-acclaimed writer will launch his new novel at the Bram Stoker International Film Festival.
From The Pages Of Bram Stoker's Dracula: Harker by Tony Lee is a story set six months on from Dracula, with introductions by Dacre Stoker, Ian Holt and Leslie S Klinger.
Tony has been a writer and journalist for television, print and radio for mor
e than 20 years.
In the last five years he has concentrated on comics, including X-Men, Spider Man, Starship Troopers and Doctor Who.
His works Hope Falls and Midnight Kiss have been nominated for several awards and his graphic novel Outlaw: The Legend Of Robin Hood has been announced as a 2009 Junior Library Guild Selection.
From next month, Tony will write the ongoing Doctor Who comic series.
Speaking about his book launch, Mr Lee said: "To be invited to do so at Whitby, at a festival dedicated to the man who started it all makes me very proud and honoured."
Ingrid Pitt is also a guest speaker and director Mike McCarthy says she is excited about attending the inaugural film festival and is looking forward to meeting film fans and visiting Whitby.
The Polish actress most famously played Countess Dracula in 1970.
The Festival runs from 16-19 October at Whitby Pavilion with more than 30 horror, sci-fi and thriller films including 10 UK and five world premieres.
The festival, for over 18s only, will feature burlesque dancers and The Mocky Horror Show, a tribute to the Rocky Horror Show.
