A WHITBY woman was arrested after police carried out a drugs raid at a Whitby house on Friday.
Officers searched the property in the Church Street area of town at 7pm where they seized a small quantity of cannabis and a quantity of what is believed to be Class A drug, amphetamine.

A 33-year-old local man was given a Cannabis Warning, a spoken warning given by a police officer, which is used if the person is caught in possession of the Class B drug for the first time.

A 28-year old local woman was arrested for possession of amphetamine. She has since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

PC Chris Bone of Whitby Police said they had been suspicious there were drugs on the premises and there had been drug dealing going on which is why they raided the property.

He said: "Everyone that is found in possession of drugs or found to be dealing drugs will be arrested."
