A FAMILY had to call the fire brigade after their electrical shower caught fire in Stainsacre last Tuesday night.
Firefighters from Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay attended the blaze at 9.30pm which was caused by an electrical fault and had spread to the plastic bath.
The occupiers of the house managed to get out of the property unhurt while firefighters put out the fire which had also created a lot of smoke.
The crews were at the scene for around an hour and also fitted smoke alarms and gave advice to the homeowners.
