STUDENTS from Whitby Community College were dressed to impress last week.
Year 11 students enjoyed their school prom last Tuesday night at Whitby Pavilion.

Technology teacher Debbie Rollins organised the event and told the Gazette: "It was a lovely evening and all the students came along looking absolutely gorgeous.

"There were some fantastic gowns and the teachers judged the winners of the best dressed awards."

Katie Welham won best dressed female and Sam Hardiman best dressed male.

The prize for couple of the year went to Michael Spencer and Kathy Roe who won Sunday lunch at Dunsley Hall Hotel.

Some students arrived in style in limousines although no-one managed to top last year's star vehicle – a fire engine.

Almost 200 students attended the event where they danced the night away.
