RESIDENTS of the Whitby area have until next month to air their views about the winter maintenance service on the area's roads.
The service costs council taxpayers more than £6 million a year.

Now, an in-depth review has been carried out to improve its efficiency and effectiveness.

A task group of councillors has spent the last few months listening to local people and talking to engineers as well as comparing the county's service with work carried out elsewhere.

The group has developed proposals to change some of the service but has decided to give people until 11 June to air their views.

These can be posted to county hall at Northallerton or emailed to scrutiny@northyorks.gov.uk
