WHITBY town councillor Sue Dyson has resigned from the council for family reasons opening up a spot in the West Cliff ward.
Miss Dyson cited family reasons for her exit, saying she would not be able to dedicate her time to the council.

Her letter of resignation was accepted at a meeting of the Town Council and Whitby mayor Steve Smith thanked her for her service to the council.

Her vacant seat will now be advertised to the public and one candidate will be co-opted at a future meeting.
