TICKETS are now on sale for a highly-anticipated annual charity event in Egton which promises to be just as big as ever.
A huge shed provides the venue for the fifth annual Marra’s Shed Warming which will see hundreds of people being entertained by a disco, live band, auction and raffle.

Organiser of the Shed Warming, Tony “Marra” Harland, told the Gazette last year
’s event raised £10,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, and he hopes to raise just as much, if not more this year.

The Shed Warming played host to cameras galore last year as it featured in a BBC documentary on the live-saving air ambulance.

Now, Marra hopes to increase the £37,500 already raised over the years from the shed warming events for the Air Ambulance.

“We’re hoping to make it a brilliant event,” he said.

“There will be a band and disco, and people will have a great time, they always do.”

The Shed Warming, which will be held in Egton on Friday 6 June, hopes to feature a celebrity guest.

Catherine Garbutt, office manager at Wilf Noble’s Building Supplies, who helps organise and promote the event, said: “We always donate the money the event raises to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance because it helps local people.

“The charity isn’t government funded and needs a lot of funding to be able to continue with its work.

“Sometimes, the air ambulance is the only thing which can reach people when they need treatment, which makes it an extremely worthwhile cause.”

Tickets are available from Wilf Noble’s on (01947) 824060, Richardson and Smith on (01947) 602298 or Marra on (01947) 895218.

Admittance costs £10 per person and includes food.
