CHILDREN at Whitby's Airy Hill School are appealing for the return of the school's bear after he went missing at a doctor's surgery.
The bear has been with the school for years and each night is taken home by a child, who does a diary of his experiences.

Sadly on Monday evening, he was left at Whitby's Spring Vale Medical Centre.

Leona Collum and her daughter Roma (5) went back to the surgery but Barnaby was nowhere to be seen.

"We hope that someone may have picked him up and taken him home," said Leona.

"My daughter has made a wanted poster for his return.

"He has been with the school for a lot of years.

"The children are all upset he has gone."

DO you have Barnaby? If so ring the school on (01947) 602688 or the Whitby Gazette on (01947) 829910.
