POLICE have been targeting motorists in Ruswarp after concerns were raised over speeding vehicles in the village.
Back in December last year a police officer stopped 19 motorists during a 50 minute time frame who had exceeded 25mph in the 20mph zone outside Ruswarp School.

Speaking at a Rural CAP meeting in Egton on Monday, Whitby Inspector Mark Grange said the drivers who were targeted during the morning at school drop off time were given words of advice.

He added last week five more motorists were stopped and again spoken to about their excess speed at the same location and during a similar time of day.
