A SPECTACULAR plant event will be taking place on Sunday to aid a charity which offers gardening therapy for adults with learning difficulties and those with mental health problems.
The event for Participaction, which holds the plant extravaganza every year, will take place from 10am to 1pm at Stainsacre Hall, Stainsacre.

The group will be selling a wide range of annuals and some vegetable plants which have been donated to them.

Participaction members garden on a plot at Stainsacre Hall and also have a ‘splinter group’ which does the garden at the Whitby Day Hospice.

At the moment Participaction and the Day Hospice are in the middle of plans to change the garden at the hospice for the betterment of the patients, with the help of Tom Mutton, Scarborough Council’s parks development officer who is drawing up new plans to be carried out, including more seating areas for patients.

The work was further boosted by a £500 grant from the Co-op.

Everyone is welcome to come along to the event on Sunday to help support the charity and pick up some plants.
