POLICE are trying to trace a man who stole £70 in cash and a gold and diamond pendant necklace from a holidaymaker.
The theft happened on 5 July when a woman from Leeds invited back a man she had met to her room where she was staying at Whitby’s Dolphin pub in Bridge Street.

She went to look for a friend and later discovered cash and a gold and diamond pendant necklace with the letter C on it had been taken.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Whitby Police on (0845) 6060247.
