A HALOGEN lamp sparked a fire at a house in Whitby's Belle Vue Terrace last Sunday.
Firefighters from Whitby, Lythe and the aerial ladder platform from Scarborough were all sent to the property.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said the lamp set alight some wood trim around the door frame and window but the minor fire was out on arrival.

Smoke had set off the house's smoke alarm and they used thermal imaging camera to carry out an inspection of the property.
