ELDERLY people in the Whitby area can benefit from a free handyman service.
Run by Scarborough Council’s Home Improvement Agency working in parnership with Age Concern, the service is available to older people and vulnerable people who are home owners or private sector tenants.
The handyman service can help with tasks such as fitting smoke alarms, fixing door and window locks, fixing grab rails, putting up shelves, hanging curtains, minor repairs and home safety advice and energy efficiency surveys.
For more information call (01723) 232527 or alternatively, you can email hia@scarborough.gov.uk.
