Firecracker damages tiles

POLICE are investigating an incident of criminal damage after a firecracker was lit and placed in the entrance to a building in Whitby's Argyle Road.
It was reported to police as happening sometime between 6pm last Friday and 7am last Saturday.

It was placed in between the inner and outer door and then ignited, causing damage to some Victorian tiles.

Nothing was seen or heard in the vicinity of the area.

Anyone who may have seen someone behaving suspiciously is asked to call Whitby Police on (0845) 6060247.
