FIRE crews from Whitby, Scarborough and Robin Hood's Bay tackled a blaze in a barn attached to a house in Cloughton.
The alarm was raised on Tuesday at 1.56pm and there were concerns the fire might spread to the house.
The barn was used to store 200 bales of hay.
Firefighters spent the time at the scene removing the bales and protecting the property by using a hose reel and ground monitor.
The crews spent most of the afternoon at the incident.
