A GENEROUS couple have stepped in to help the Endeavour Fun Club after it fell foul of vandals.
The Whitby Gazette previously reported that vandals had smashed the window of the club, based at Airy Hill School, and caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage.

This was the second incident of damage following the destruction of a basketball hoop and trampoline last month.

Manager Natalie Targay said: “I am so grateful to Rob Dryden of Agars who offered to pay the full cost of replacing the window which is £260.

“Its amazing of them.

“They said they appreciate the service our club is providing for his fiancee Tracy Cook’s daughter, Hannah, who started coming here in July.”

Tracy told the Gazette: “The club has had a run of bad luck and Rob decided he wanted to pay for the window and help give something back to the community.

“Hannah loves the fun club and one of our staff members sons, Finlay, also enjoys going to the club. They are always enjoying something like playing rounders, cooking or baking.”

The club is open throughout the holidays as a safe place for children to have fun and play from 8am to 6pm.

In term-time, the club runs in the evenings for four to 11-year-olds. Normally an after-school club runs from 3pm to 6pm during the week. New members are welcome.
