Cottage raiders

THIEVES have made off with a substantial haul of household goods worth hundreds of pounds from an unoccupied holiday cottage in Whitby.
The theft from the insecure cottage at Riverside Walk is believed to have happened sometime between 26 September and 3 October.
The haul included a 27 inch Samsung flat screen TV worth £270 and a £400 32 inch LG flat screen TV.
Also taken were two black square glass table lamps worth £120, a chrome standard lamp worth £80, two chrome table lamps worth £120, a chrome standard lamp worth £85 and two pictures – a small beige flower canvas picture worth £80 and a picture of Whitby Abbey steps also valued at £80.
Sgt Steve Pearse of Whitby Police is asking anyone who saw anything suspicious such as someone loading goods into a vehicle to contact PC Nick Hill on (0845) 6060247.
