HEAVY snowfall is affecting some roads in the Whitby area.
Reports are coming in of gridlock at Skelder Bank on the A171.
The A174 Sandsend both ways between Sandsend Road and Lodge Road is still open affecting all driving lanes.
It is just passable due to ice between Sandsend Road and Lythe Bank though caution is urged.
