AN ACTIVE Whitby couple have just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Mary and Geoffrey Willison enjoyed a party last Thursday at the Fairways Court complex where they now live surrounded by family and friends.
And, despite being 85 and 88 respectively they still know how to party and will be having another get together at Dunsley Hall next month.
Both Mary and Geoff were born in Bradford where they were wed on 5 April, 1947 - which happened to be the worst winter on record.
Geoff was a chemist in the paint industry and his work took them to Scotland, Slough and in 1961 the North East when they moved to Marske.
The couple have two daughters Elizabeth and Hilary who live in Sleights and Newholm and prior to moving to Fairways, Geoff and Mary have lived in Runswick Bay, Sleights and Chubb Hill.
They have five grandchildren, one of whom, Samantha sang at their party, and seven great grandchildren.
Mary and Geoff have enjoyed holidays abroad, gardening and entertaining family.
