This year will see over 85 Christmas trees on display in Whitby’s historic St Mary’s Church, at the top of the town’s 199 steps.
The trees are taken to the church by businesses, families and a wide variety of organisations and associations.
This is its ninth year but when the exhibition started there were only 35 trees on display.
This year’s Christmas Tree Exhibition which pulls in visitors from Whitby and district and beyon is on now until 3 January from 10am and 3pm.
There are over 85 trees for visitors to enjoy and you can gain entry by donation and the proceeds will go towards maintaining St Mary’s Church.
St Mary’s will be closed on Christmas Day after the service, Boxing Day and in bad weather.
If weather is poor people are asked to call (01947) 603421 to check the church is open before traveling.
Church maid Dianne Davis told the Whitby Gazette: “I think the Christmas exhibition is lovely and positive as it is bringing in people from all over and has a positive effect on everyone and a lot of people will come in and see the Christmas trees and want to light a candle.”
