Solstice fun for visiting goths

GOTHS enjoyed a mid-summer two night event to celebrate the the Summer Solstice in Whitby.

The first Sexy Solstice, held last Saturday and Sunday nights, featured four DJs playing traditional Goth music and some eclectic 80s tunes, followed by a charity raffle raising money for Sheffield based charity Labrador Welfare, with 260 raised.

Organiser Hazel Wainwright was delighted with the turn-out for the event at the Met considering the event was conceived and organised in less than eight weeks.

And she has already booked the venue for next year, hoping it will become a regular feature in the Goths' calendar.

Hazel also organises the Sexy Sunday events which are part of the town's regular goth weekends in April and October.
