Pavilion set for sounds of the Sixties

The sound of the Swinging Sixties is coming to Whitby this weekend as Whitby Pavilion hosts its bi-annual festival.

Promoter Chris Wood from Whitby Live has put together a jam-packed line-up of acts guaranteed to please fans of the era.

And there is still chance to see individual shows although weekend tickets and tickets for Saturday night's acts are now sold out.

Tonight sees a wealth of sixties stalwarts take to the stage with The Persuaders, Ivy League and Herman's Hermits performing from 7pm.

And on Saturday it will be the turn of an array of tribute acts to re-create the sound of the 60s with tributes to the Shadows, Ricky Nelson, Billy Fury, Bobby Vee and Gene Pitney.

Saturday night's sold out line-up features Amen Corner with Chip Hawkes, Steve Ellis and Merseybeat Legends.

Rounding-off Sunday will be tributes to legends The Beatles, Elvis and Cliff Richard performing between 12 noon and 4pm.

While Sunday evening's session between 7pm and 1am will see Marmalade, Union Gap and The Dreamers perform for the crowds.
