New children's book sure to be a whizz
WHITBY children's author James David has launched a brand new book this summer packed full of fun for children.
Following the success of his five part magical reality-meets-fantasy Aqua Crysta series set beneath the North Yorkshire Moors and along the Whitby coast, James has put together a completely different book called Whitby Whizzkids.
He said: "It's an activity book for families visiting Whitby or for children who are fortunate enough to live here, full of puzzles, games, things to do, places to visit, walks and car tours, snippets of info about Whitby's history and heritage.
"It could keep kids occupied for hours and during the summer, we'll be running Whitby Whizzkids competitions with prizes so watch out for them at the tourist information centre and on Twitter from 16 August."
The book is compiled and produced by James and his illustrator and graphic designer, Debra Merry.
He will be signing first edition copies of Whitby Whizzkids and his other nine books at Whitby Tourist Information Centre in Langborne Road for seven days from tomorrow until Friday 30 July. The book will be available in 40 outlets across the Whitby area from this week.
Whitby Gazette readers can save 1 on the cover price of 4.95 by cutting out the coupon on today's Whitby Gazette.
