mail@bartpics.co.uk                                                     31st  August 2017                                                    PICTURE PROVIDED FOR FREE EDITORIAL USE ON BEHALF OF EMMA STOTHARD SCULPTOR IN CONJUNCTION WITH PRESS RELEASE DATED AS ABOVE                                          Whitby based sculptor Emma Stothard on the beach between Sandsend and Whitby with her family of elephants which can be seen further up the Yorkshire coast at the Staithes Festival of Arts and Heritage on the 9th/10th September 2017.Emma was keen to recreate the legend of  Indian noble Duleep Singh, the Maharajah of Lahore who lived at Mulgrave Castle near Sandsend in the 1860's . He had a road constructed from Sandsend to Whitby as the legend has it his elephants didnt enjoy walking on the sand.
