HULL Truck Theatre will bring an adaption of Charlotte Bronte’s novel Jane Eyre to Whitby Pavilion in March.

From a harsh childhood controlled by unfeeling adults, Jane Eyre has to rely on her town courage and convictions to make her way in the world.

She longs to learn and she dares to dream.

Employed as a governess, she travels across the bleak Yorkshire moors to the mysterious Thornfield Hall - a house of locked doors with a dangerous secret.

There she meets the strange Mr Rochester.

The Hull Truck Theatre is a theatre based in Hull which presents high quality drama productions although it also tours its productions on a regular basis.

The theatre was founded in 1971 by actor Mike Bradwell when he could not find work.

Playwright John Godber became artistic director in 1984 and one of Hull Truck’s most performed plays is John Godber’s Bouncers.

Jane Eyre is on at Whitby Pavilion on Saturday 9 March at 7.30pm.
