Headmaster joins play’s cast of Me and My Girl

After packing away props and costumes from its winter production of Annie, Whitby Area Musical Theatre Company is delighted to have cast its fabulous next show Me and My Girl.

Those of you who have enjoyed Downton Abbey on TV, starring Littlebeck’s Joanne Froggatt, can look forward to the costumes and drama of a similar era.

The timeless melodies and unforgettable lyrics will transport you back to both Cockney London and the Aristocracy of the 1930s.

The company is thrilled to welcome Suzy Corrigan back as Sally Smith, the Cockney girlfriend of Bill Snibson.

Suzy put in an outstanding performance of Eliza in Whitby Area Musical Theatre Company’s production of My Fair Lady.

Suzy started her career at eight years of age for a Yorkshire Television drama series. She attended Arts Educational London; her career includes working in the West End, pantomime and a season at the English National Opera.

Ken James, the Headmaster of Fyling Hall School, who said he enjoyed dazzling early success at university in the musical Cabaret as a tutu-clad ballet dancing gorilla, returned to the stage after 18 years to play alongside Suzy as Freddy Eynsford-Hill in My Fair Lady.

The company is delighted that he is returning once again to play the Cockney Bill Snibson, Sally’s boyfriend and heir to the title of Earl of Hareford – a role made famous by Robert Lindsay in the West End where it ran for eight years from 1985-1993.

Any man who would like to be part of this show will be most welcome.

Rehearsals are 7.30pm-9.30pm on Tuesdays and Fridays at Caedmon School.

Me and My Girl can be seen at Whitby Pavilion Theatre from 8-12 May at 7.30pm.

Ticket prices are: circle, adults £11, 16yrs & under £8; stalls, adults £10 16yrs & under £7, stalls family ticket: £30 (2+2)
