A FILM which touches on love, parenthood and trust is showing at Whitby Coliseum on Thursday.

In The Kid With A Bike (2011) Cyril, almost 12, has only one plan – to find the father who left him temporarily in a children’s home.

In a random act of kindness, Samantha, who runs a hairdressing salon agrees to let him stay with her at weekends.

But Cyril doesn’t recognise the love Samantha develops for him, a love he desperately needs to calm his rage.

He is obsessed with the idea that his errant father is keeping his bike for him and must find him.

The film is in French with English subtitles and starts at 7.45pm.

Admission costs £5 and everyone is welcome.
