The skies are the limit for two brave pensioners as they take the plunge for charity in aid of their joint passion for animals.
Norma Carrick, of Raw Animal Rescue (70) and friend Geraldine Barnett (68) are set to do a 2,000ft tandem parachute jump to raise funds for three charities close to their hearts.
Norma said: “We are really looking forward to it, my husband thinks I’m mad. We’re really excited, we haven’t got time to be nervous.
“Our friends and family will be there to support us.”
Money raised from sponsors will be divided between Raw Animal Rescue, Stuart Easby’s animal rescue mission in Japan, and Macmillan nurses.
Retired vet Stuart Easby will also be jumping to raise funds to return to Japan and rescue more animals left after the quake.
Geraldine said: “My cousin has parachuted before, it must be a mad streak in the family.
“They are all worthwhile causes and we know people will rally round and support us.”
The pair will take the leap of faith and jump on Saturday 9th July at Evesham, Bridlington.
If you would like to sponsor the ladies there are sponsor forms in Whitby businesses Birthdays, Kristy’s, Co-op, Sherlocks and Bothams.
