Summer has arrived on the Yorkshire Coast and brought with it thousands of visitors looking to make the most of the bank holiday in Whitby.
Rows of deck chairs lined the beach on the West Cliff as families splashed in the sea and tucked into traditional fish and chips while.
Others crammed onto the cobbled streets to try and catch a FiverFest bargain in the Whitby’s independent shops as part of a scheme to boost the town’s traders.
It was so busy yesterday (Sunday) that Green’s restaurant reported a cancelled booking because people couldn’t find anywhere to park in the town.
With temperatures expected to remain favourable for the rest of the day, shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes are gearing up for another busy day.
