THROUGH your paper, may I thank the four local Whitby ladies who kept myself and my friends entertained while we experienced your abysmal Whitby bus service.
We had decided to catch the Scarborough bus from the bus station on 3 June.

After a 20-minute wait, a member of the bus company shouted across “the bus has broken down.”

There was no apology no replacement bus, just a wait for the next one. When it did arrive, half-full, we were one of the lucky ones to get on the bus as there were enough people to fill two buses by this time.

Some passengers had to stand the whole journey to Scarborough.

What a pity it is Whitby does not have a decent bus service and some buses are reliable.

I am sure this does not help tourism for your area.
