IT'S here – the second gothic weekend of the year begins today and the town is already full to bursting with goths from all over the world.
A documentary crew from Tigerlily Productions will be filming proceedings over the three days with organisers saying this could be one of the biggest and best yet.

The recent postal strike has left some without tickets for the sell-out gigs at Whitby Pavilion on Friday and Saturday nights.

But organiser Jo Hampshire has said they have taken on extra staff to deal with the problem.

"People who haven't received their tickets yet can turn up with photo ID and a utility bill to gain entry," she said.

"We always have contingency plans in place and have got extra staff so it shouldn't be a problem.

"Tickets can be exchanged for wristbands from midday today.

"We have a band coming over from Japan which is a first and I think it is going to be a special weekend."

Fund-raising and collections will be held at various points around town to raise money for a memorial bench for murdered goth Sophie Lancaster.
