SEE the Whitby Gazette's first ever video of the Goth Weekend here.
The goths have been descending peacefuly on Whitby for more than 10 years now, and it has become possibly the biggest event on their social calendar.

We decided to send Whitby Gazette reporter Carl Gavaghan and photographer Doug Jackson, armed with only a video camera and microphone, out and about to talk to some of them to mark the Gazette's first ever video reports.

And they gave us their views on what makes Whitby Gothic Weekend so unique and special.

Whitby's pubs, shops and streets were packed with people enjoying the event.
