Church services for Sunday 24 March
Aislaby
ST Margaret’s Church will have Holy Communion at 9am on Sunday.
Danby and Castleton
PALM Sunday Group Holy Communion is at 10.30am at Danby Church. The Palm Sunday Walk from Castleton Church to Danby Chapel is at 3pm. Holy Week services continue with joint evening prayer at 7pm on Monday at Danby Chapel, 7pm on Tuesday at Danby Church and 7pm on Wednesday at Castleton Church. There is a special service at 7pm on Maundy Thursday at Danby Chapel, and the Good Friday service is from noon-3pm at Danby Church (people may come and leave at any time).

ST Hedda’s Church will have mass on Sunday at 9am.
ST Hilda’s Church will have parish Communion at 10.30am on Sunday.
Goathland
ST Mary’s Church will have parish Communion at 3pm on Sunday. On Maundy Thursday there will be the Institution of Holy Communion with Stripping of the Altar at 7pm.

ST Thomas’ Church will have parish Communion at 9am on Sunday.

ST Matthew’s Church will have family worship at 10.30am on Sunday.

ALL Saints’ Church will have Holy Eucharist at 9.15am on Sunday.
HAWSKER Methodist Church will have a service at 2.30pm on Sunday led by Ellinor Pugh. Sunday school is at 10.30am.

HINDERWELL Methodist Chapel will have a service at 10.30am on Sunday led by Vic Humphreys of Staithes.

LADY of the Sacred Heart Church will have vigil mass tomorrow at 6.30pm.

ST Oswald’s Church will have benefice Eucharist at 10am on Palm Sunday (meet at village hall).

FYLINGDALES Parish Church of St Stephen’s: Sundays 10.45am sung Eucharist; first Sunday of the month, 10.45am, All Age Worship; fourth Sunday, 8am, Holy Communion; Wednesdays, 10am, Holy Communion.
FYLINGTHORPE Methodist Church will have a service at 10.15m on Sunday led by the Rev John Pugh and includes Holy Communion. Local arrangement at 6.15pm.
ROBIN Hood’s Bay Methodist Church – Communion is held every Thursday at 9.15am. The service at 10.30am on Sunday will be led by the Rev Mary Jackman.
Sleights
ENGLISH Martyrs Church will have mass on Sunday at 9am. Weekday mass is at 7pm on Tuesday and 9am on Thursday.
SERVICES for Briggswath and Sleights Methodist Church on Sunday: 10.30am Derek Orwin; 6.30pm the Rev John Pugh.
ST John’s Church will have Eucharist at 10.30am on Sunday.

ST Hilda’s Church will have Evensong at 3pm on Sunday.
Staithes
OUR Lady Star of the Sea RC Church vigil mass is held on Saturdays at 6.30pm. On Maundy Thursday Stations of the Cross is at 9.10am followed by Confessions from 9.30-10am.
ON Sunday Mass of Palm Sunday takes place at 9am at St Joseph and St Cuthbert’s Church, Loftus. On Monday and Tuesday Stations of the Cross is at 9.10am followed by mass at 9.30am. On Maundy Thursday there will be mass of the Lord’s Supper with Washing of Feet at 7pm, night prayer at 9.45pm.
Ugthorpe
ST Anne’s Church will have mass on Sunday at 11am, on Tuesday at 9am and on Friday at 7pm.
CHRIST Church will have Eucharist at 7.30pm on Maundy Thursday.
Whitby
WHITBY Methodist Church services are held at The Mission, Haggersgate. The service at 10am on Sunday will be led by the Rev Clive Artley.
THE Flowergate United Reformed Church service is at 10.30am each Sunday. Holy Communion is on the second and fourth Monday of the month at 10.45am. On Monday there will be a service of Holy Communion at 10.45am. There will be a service at 11.15am on Wednesday and on Maundy Thursday there will be a service which will include handwashing and Holy Communion with a bring and share lunch in the upper hall at 12.30pm.
WHITBY Christian Fellowship meets every Sunday at 10.45am at Eskdale School.
FRIENDS and Quakers meet at the Community Hall, Marton Court, Byland Road, Whitby at 10.30am on the first and third Sundays in the month.
WHITBY Evangelical Church meets regularly on Sundays at 10.45am and 5.30pm at Skinner Street. All welcome.
THE Salvation Army at St Peter’s Court will have a service on the first Sunday of the month at 2pm and a Bible study on the third Wednesday of the month at noon. For details contact Major Pat on 603773.
THE Unitarian Chapel on Flowergate, meets on the third Sunday in the month at 2pm.

ST Ninians’ Church will have mass at 10am on Palm Sunday. There will be mass on Monday at 10am, Tuesday at 10am and Chrism mass at 7pm. Wednesday mass at 7pm. Thursday mass of the Lord’ Supper at 7pm followed by watch at the altar of repose.
THE New Life Community Church meets on Sundays at 3pm in Whitby’s Green Lane Centre.
THE Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints meets for a service on the fourth Sunday of each month at 10am at Caedmon School.

CHURCHES TOGETHER
CHURCHES Together Good Friday Walk of Witness takes place at 9.30am from St Mary’s Church, walking through town, and concludes with a joint service in the Mission, Haggersgate, Whitby, at 11am, all welcome.
